Year 12 physicists inspired by cutting-edge research

Our recent visit to the Physics in Action conference in London featured five fascinating sessions led by leading experts in the field, covering cutting-edge research and the application of physics in the real world.

A special session on exam success provided invaluable tips for our students. Overall, it was an enriching experience that left our students motivated and excited about the future of physics.

Topics included ‘quantum photonics’ with Imogen Forbes, University of Bristol; ‘the Coriolis effect’ with author and science communicator Simon Clark; ‘ultrasound: not just for babies’ with Rachel Edwards, University of Warwick; and ‘weighing the neutrino’ with Jonathan Tennyson, University College London.
