The Mulberry Schools Trust

A flourishing family of schools and partners, that believes in outstanding achievement for all

We provide access to exceptional education and enrichment for all children and young people, in entrepreneurial schools, expertly led and managed by our innovative multi-academy trust. We have ambitious aims for the wellbeing and prosperity of the children and young people at the heart of the communities we serve, and the educational system that enables them.

Children’s life chances, choice and wellbeing are underpinned by the opportunity for an exceptional education that is unlimited by background or circumstance. The Mulberry Schools Trust wants to make this a sustainable reality for all.

The Mulberry Schools Trust …

  • believes education is a human right and a public good, enabling everyone to lead rich and fulfilling lives enjoying wellbeing and prosperity
  • provides access to an outstanding and life-enriching education for all, whatever their circumstances
  • enables sustainable change and development at individual, school, community, system and national level

Since we were established in 2017, we have become a family of eight schools, including two primary schools and a newly-constructed secondary school that has recently opened its doors. Wherever they study, all our students enjoy an exceptional education with life-enriching opportunities beyond the classroom, giving them the qualifications, skills and experiences they need for lifelong well-being and prosperity.

We have built a lean and nimble central services team and created a Trust-level enrichment offer focused on STEM, the arts and global education. We have established a dedicated college of teaching, and a teaching school hub, developed a knowledge and innovation resource to inform system-wide change, and set up our own charitable foundation.

Beyond our own classrooms, schools and communities, we are supporting the evolution of the education system to serve all children, whatever their circumstances, offering insight and leadership in our work with partners and policy professionals, putting education at the heart of change and the forefront of national life.

Our family of schools

We are a flourishing multi-academy trust with a family of eight state-funded, non-selective schools serving communities primarily in Tower Hamlets and East London, with one school in Haringey, North London, and a new Alternative Provision school, the Mulberry Learning Village, set to open in 2027. Meet our family and find out more about how local children can enjoy the benefits of exceptional education and development in like-minded schools and settings from the age of 3 to 19 years.

Beyond the classroom

To help our flourishing family of schools focus on delivering exceptional education and enrichment opportunities for the children they serve, they are supported by a strong business and governance infrastructure, led by a lean and nimble Central Services team. Find out more about the people, process and polices involved in providing strategic leadership and expert support to the whole Trust family, and ensuring it meets obligations as a state-funded multi academy trust.

Who we are, how we work

Our schools don’t just focus on outstanding academic achievement but also on personal, social and emotional development, and the support children need to prepare for post-school life. Whatever their background or circumstances, and wherever they study with us, all our students enjoy extensive extra-curricular enrichment opportunities and trailblazing partnerships that challenge and inspire, helping build the confidence and skills they need to succeed and thrive.

Beyond our schools

Despite being amidst the affluent City and Docklands, our family of schools is serving communities facing profound social and economic disadvantage and disparity. We are committed not only to serving the young people in our schools, but supporting everyone in the local community beyond. Responding to the needs of all those we serve, we’re working with other local families, schools, community organisations and partners to offer access to services and spaces for adult education, community projects, events and performances.
