Mulberry Schools Trust Hosts 8th Annual Education Lecture at the Royal Society of Arts

On Wednesday 11 December, the Mulberry Schools Trust hosted its 8th Annual Education Lecture at the Royal Society of Arts, welcoming more than 170 students, Trustees, Governors and friends of Mulberry.

The evening featured a keynote address from Matthew Barzun, Chair and Publisher of Tortoise Media and former US Ambassador to the UK. He spoke powerfully about diplomacy, leadership and the role of digital journalism in shaping society, with a particular focus on engaging young people in public life.

The lecture was followed by an inspiring panel discussion with Zulum Elumogo, Managing Director at TC & Friends and Trustee of the Fair Education Alliance and Barbican Centre; Sotez Chowdhury, Director of Activism and Education at Amnesty International; and Khadija Drir, student at Mulberry School for Girls and Deputy Young Mayor of Tower Hamlets. Their reflections on youth leadership resonated strongly with the audience.

The event was confidently compered by Mulberry Academy Woodside students Timothy and Mawada, who played a key role in the evening’s success.
