A Celebration of Community and Togetherness

On Wednesday, 12th March, Mulberry Academy Woodside held a special Iftar gathering, bringing together students, parents, carers, and staff to share in the traditions of Ramadan. The event welcomed both Muslim and non-Muslim members of our school community, fostering a spirit of togetherness and understanding.

Iftar, the evening meal where Muslims break their fast at sunset, is a significant moment during Ramadan. Students began by breaking their fast with dates and water before coming together for the Maghrib prayer – the sunset prayer – held in the sports hall and led by Head Boy Faisal Alizadeh. Following the prayer, guests enjoyed a delicious meal and refreshments, thoughtfully prepared by the school’s catering team.

The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, reflection, and a strong sense of unity, highlighting the values of respect and inclusivity that define our school community. It was a wonderful celebration that reinforced the importance of coming together to learn from and support one another.
