Foreign Secretary David Lammy Visits MAW to Inspire Young Leaders

On Thursday 6 June, Foreign Secretary and MP for Tottenham David Lammy visited Mulberry Academy Woodside. He met students involved in leadership and enrichment programmes, including the Mulberry STEM Academy, which offers mentorship and industry-led STEM learning; the Mulberry Societies, which focus on academic enrichment and higher education; and Global Girls Leading, which supports young women in leadership.

Mr Lammy also spoke with House Captains, Sports Captains and Values Ambassadors about the school’s community ethos. A highlight of his visit was a Q&A with Year 10 Citizenship students, where he responded to insightful questions on his personal journey in public service, future aspirations, and his role as Foreign Secretary and MP for Tottenham.

The visit was a meaningful opportunity for students to share their views and learn about political leadership. It reflected the school’s ongoing commitment to student voice and engagement in public life.
