Global Girl Leaders take centre stage at WOW 15th Anniversary celebrations
On Saturday 8th March, , to mark International Women’s Day, 20 students from the Global Girl Leading programme took part in the Women of the World (WOW) 15th Anniversary celebrations at the Royal Albert Hall. The event featured an inspiring conversation with legendary activist Angela Davis, who was interviewed by Sumayyah Mohammed from Mulberry School for Girls.
Students also took to the stage as part of a 150-strong choir of women and girls, performing a specially commissioned piece by composer Errollyn Wallen alongside iconic singer Annie Lennox.
The celebrations continued on Tuesday 11 March, when six of our Global Girl Leaders from Mulberry School for Girls and Mulberry Academy Shoreditch were invited to a special reception at Buckingham Palace. Accompanied by senior leaders, they had the honour of meeting Queen Camilla and a host of other famous celebrities to mark this special occasion. The visit attracted widespread media coverage and was featured on the official social media channels for the Royal Family. See links below.
These memorable experiences showcased the powerful voices of our students and their role in advocating for gender equality on an international stage.
