On Monday 1 June Mulberry Baird Primary were delighted to welcome Tesco and JB Gill from JLS as part of a special visit celebrating the Free Fruit & Veg programme!
The visit highlighted the positive impact the programme is having across the school community, supporting children to access healthy food throughout the school day while promoting healthy lifestyles and wellbeing from an early age. It also recognised staff who go above and beyond to support children’s wellbeing.
Visitors were able to see the programme in action through a range of activities across the school, including classroom learning linked to healthy eating and fruit and vegetable tasting sessions in Nursery. Staff and pupils also shared their experiences of the initiative and the difference it is making to children’s daily lives.
The school are proud to support pupils to feel healthy, supported and ready to learn.
The visit forms part of Tesco’s wider campaign celebrating schools and educators making a positive difference to children’s wellbeing, with coverage expected to feature nationally across print and social media.
Well done to all the staff at Mulberry Baird Primary for going above and beyond to support students to thrive, and thanks to Tesco for supporting this important initiative.
