On Monday 1 June Mulberry Academy London Dock officially launched the Gensler Belonging Project, a flagship 2026 design initiative developed in collaboration with Gensler.
The project will give students the opportunity to design and create their own lampshades inspired by the theme of belonging, encouraging creativity, collaboration and student voice through design.
The launch began with a kick-off assembly led by Principal Christopher Harvey, introducing students to the project and the creative journey ahead. Students also visited the Gensler offices, where they were able to explore the professional design environment and learn more about the work of architects and designers.
The Gensler Belonging Project has been created to give students meaningful opportunities to engage with industry professionals while developing their own creative ideas and practical design skills.
