The Mulberry Schools Trust is currently planning their flagship event for the academic year 2018 – 2019 which will take place 12th October 2018 and will coincide with International Day of the Girl which takes place on 11th October 2018. The event will be called the Partnership of Equals Conference and will bring together 400 young people from across the UK to discuss gender equality. The conference will take place at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster.
As a Trust, we recognise that young people have the power to change the world: corridors and classrooms all over the country are filled with young leaders ready to craft a fairer future. Yet, in the world beyond schools, not all young people are given equal chances to fulfil their potential: in 2018, young people are growing up in a gender unequal world where women and girls are often denied equal pay and equal representation in leadership, and men and boys are often denied the chance to explore their emotions and express their sensitivity. It is our aim to give young people the tools to change that, and to work together in a partnership of equals to create a gender equal future for all.
